Julie Murphy’s Driving School will be bringing lots of useful information to pupils learning to drive and qualified drivers. This will consist of useful highway code reminders, highways information for Swindon, Chippenham and surrounding areas keeping you updated on scheduled road works and any article relevant to driving. I hope you find the blogs useful and these will be updated weekly so hope to see you again.
The use of hazard warning lights
Rule 116 of the highway code states that you may use hazard warning lights to warns others that you are temporarily obstructing traffic. They must not be used for illegal or dangerous parking.
You must NOT use them whilst towing or being towed unless you are on a motorway or unrestricted dual carriageway and you need to inform other road users of a hazard or obstruction ahead. Only use them long enough to advise others of the hazard.
You can read more about the highway code and how to practice in the pupil resources section of this site.
